No matter your age, to keep you comfortable during treatment we offer headphones and music, plus blankets and pillows!
At Dental Health Services, we offer both adult and pediatric teeth cleanings and routine exams. We recommend that you receive a routine cleaning twice a year to maintain optimal dental health and ensure any issues are caught as early as possible. During these exams, we will clean your teeth and gums of food, plaque, and tartar build-up. We will also inspect your mouth for any signs of developing cavities or gum disease, and we will also provide an oral cancer screening. After the exam, we will provide you with instructions as to how you can improve your oral hygiene at home, such as by adjusting your brushing techniques or flossing more often.
Dental x-rays are an important diagnostic tool because they allow us to catch issues that cannot be seen during a visual exam, such as impacted teeth or jawbone abnormalities. We utilize advanced x-ray technology that provides detailed images and exposes you to a very minimal, safe amount of radiation. Using dental x-rays, we can help catch developing issues as soon as possible.
Sealants are a great way to help protect your child from cavities! Sealants are caps that are generally placed on the back molars, which, during childhood, are grooved on top. This makes them very difficult to properly clean, which means they can collect food and bacteria that eventually leads to decay. Sealants protect the teeth from developing decay.
Whether you are looking to replace one tooth or a whole row of teeth, we can provide full and partial sets of dentures. After taking precise, careful measurements of your mouth and facial structure, we will custom-create dentures that are made just for you. These dentures will be comfortable and will allow you to chew and speak just as if you had real teeth. No one will know the difference!
If you are an athlete, a mouthguard is a must for protecting your teeth from damage. At our practice, we custom-create mouthguards to fit comfortably in your mouth, so you can focus on playing your sport! We also offer nightguards, which are used to prevent the teeth from grinding during sleep, which can lead to jaw pain, headaches and wear on the teeth.
When decay or infection has reached the root of the tooth, a root canal may be necessary. During a root canal, we will extract the infected pulp from the tooth and the root, and then we will thoroughly clean the tooth to remove any remaining bacteria. We will then restore the strength and appearance of the tooth with a crown.
An extraction is necessary when a tooth is so decayed or damaged that it cannot be saved with a root canal. During an extraction, we remove both the tooth and the root. There are several options you can choose from when it comes to a tooth replacement, including a partial denture, a bridge or a dental implant. We will work with you to determine the option that is best for your individual needs.
Healthy gums are essential to oral health! As gum disease progresses, it can lead to jaw bone damage as well as tooth loss. That’s why we work to solve the problem before it progresses. Using scaling and root planing, we clean out the gums inside of the gumline, removing plaque, bacteria, and tartar that can lead to gingivitis and eventually to periodontitis. If you do have gum damage, we can perform a gum grafting surgery, in which we use healthy gum from another area in the mouth to replace damaged or missing gums.
Laser treatment is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional dental surgery. Lasers are precise, and allow us to perform procedures without affecting the healthy, neighboring tooth structures. We can use lasers for a variety of purposes, such as to remove cavities or clean the gums. We will work with you to determine if laser treatment is right for you!
Our doctors can perform a wide range of oral surgeries. We can insert dental implants, perform gum grafting surgery, provide crown lengthening to expose more of the tooth for further treatment, and remove wisdom teeth. Our doctors will help you decide if oral surgery is the best option for your needs.
If you have lost an adult tooth or are having another dental emergency, call us immediately! We will provide you with instructions on what to do and will get you in as soon as possible. If the emergency occurs after-hours, our voicemail will provide you with instructions on how to reach an on-call dentist.
